Tiran island is located between Egypt and Saudi Arabia at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba, with a part of its coastline included in the Ras Mohammed National Park. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, and near its shores lie the remains of sunken ships, the “Lara” and “Louila”. The island is home to several thousand turtles, and migratory birds stop here for rest. The coral reefs around Tiran Island are considered one of the top ten diving and snorkeling spots in the world.
